project background

I started printernet in the summer of 2022 after feeling frusterated reading longform essays and articles on my screens. I began printing out my favorite blog posts, newsletters, and essays each week. After some thinking, I launched a simple squarespace site to offer this as a service to others. Since then we've reached 60+ readers and continue to iterate on the wonderful experience of reading in physical print. This is my main project at the moment.

project goal

Allow readers to effortlessly save and manage interesting reading they encounter online and receive a beautiful, personalized print issue with their reading each month.

technical details

• Frontend uses pure html, css, and javascript. Built with and hosted on Replit.
• Backend is node.js and I am using AWS dynamo for my database. Additionally, python is used for the scrapping and issue layout.
